Jim has been a part of Maran Films since the earliest casting calls with Shane. Having been a bass player and sound engineer with several bands, Jim naturally operates in audio. Crewing with My Intuition, his work extends far beyond recording: Jim can be found hauling equipment, shifting lights, aiding with sets—always with a unique resourcefulness. As part of the crew working on this film, Jim is reliable, inventive and proficient—in other words, invaluable.
Jim worked as chief projectionist and manager of the historic Colonial Theatre in Keene, NH, where he gained much industry-related experience. Seasonally, Jim worked on production crews for internationally-recognized rock concerts at Foxboro Stadium in MA, Quonset Point Air Force Base in RI, and Old Orchard Beach, ME. He has also worked as a photographer for casting with Tri-Star Pictures, and a videographer and field reporter for Sharp Vision. |

Ken joined the Maran Films crew after having known Shane for many years, someone already immersed in Shane's creative vision, drive, and ambition. He helped with the launching of My Intuition, and has been a suppoprtive contributor to filming days.
Besides crewing, Ken played the bartender in a Claddagh Restaurant scene who confronts “John” with an unpaid tab. Ken proves to be a multi-practical component to the film’s crew, working not only with the script and handling of the slate, but sometimes on the staging, the cameras, and anything else that needs doing at any moment.

Ricky, a mechanic and all-around handyman, has approached his many functions on the set with complete professionalism. He has thoroughly proven his worth and dependability in a job that is always unpredictable. Each placement of wire, every light set up, all the taping of gaffer’s tape, means the shoot can move forward; Ricky has been an essential element in the film’s progress.
Describing being the key grip as an “easy fit” for him, Ricky plans to expand into camera work on Shane’s next film. “Everything I do best (in life) is hands-on. So this job has come naturally to me.” One of Ricky’s assets is how conscientious he is, which adds to the peace-of-mind of location owners, and helps the productivity of all grips and the shooting in general. At the end of the day, it should be noted that Ricky displays his mathematical brainpower when it comes to packing the movie equipment into the van: there is not one inch of space left when he’s through, yet nothing is left behind.

As the set photographer for My Intuition, Roxane’s presence, and her photo documentation, have been an essential part of production since the first rehearsal. Additionally, it must be said that Roxane has an unstoppable, intelligent, and always surprising wit. We think she can’t help it.
Roxane graduated from the intensive program at Hallmark Institute of Photography in 2008, taking what had been a forever hobby and turning it into a professional career. A member of the professional photography affiliations of NPPA, PPA and WPPI, Roxane is now working toward her Master of Photography certification. She’s noted as having a unique eye for capturing “feel,”, and is expert at helping a subject express him/herself in a still. As such, she has begun to do work in headshots for entertainment professionals.
Far more than a technical photographer, Roxane is an artist, and a humane one at that—it’s what allows truth to occur in her pictures. It is safe to say that she would be nearly impossible for Maran Films to replace.

Cast in a small role for the first night of My Intuition’s filming, Alene soon rejoined with Maran Films as part of the crew. A writer and artist, years earlier Alene had gotten her start in filmwork with the CBS movie Dreams of Gold, having earned an on-camera role as well as being a SCUBA-double for one of the principals; additionally, she had assisted in building the featured underwater sets, and aided in set design and sign painting. Nowadays, for Maran Films, Alene assists director Shane in many aspects of production: scheduling, locations, press, props, script organization, and the writing and building of Maran’s website, etc. |
