Sometimes the last thing you want to believe is your own inner voice.
According to Shane Kinsman, writer, producer and director, there is not so much a message to My Intuition as there is an overall meaning. The story—one of manipulation and theft—is meant to touch upon human nature, showing how each person deals very differently when presented with a situation. The film also examines the dysfunction of selfishness and repressed emotion—it is a look at the unexpected reactions and results that come from immoral schemes, from ambiguities in relationships, and from people who behave entirely out of self-interest.
It seems a personal mission of Shane’s to see people learn a bit more overall humanity, and if he can do this through the entertainment of film, so much the better. His ideas harken from a time when technology was not so omnipresent in the world, when, as he says, people paid more attention to their dreams and their inner voice. My Intuition takes its inspiration from crime movies in the film noir style of the 40’s and 50’s, although the story is placed in modern-day America during the social and stressful Christmas season.
The shooting of this ambitious movie, happening on and near Cape Cod, MA, is being followed immediately with the production of A Change in Times, starring Cali Ross and Shane Kinsman.
